First, I would like to thank Representative Mike Forrester for his outstanding service to the citizens of District 34 and the State of South Carolina.  Mike has always served his country, our community, and our state, with dignity and class.  He is a champion of economic development for our region and a true servant of the people.  His love for our community and devotion to constituent service allowed him to truly be the representative that this community deserves.

After careful consideration and prayer, I have decided to ask the people of House District 34 for the honor of serving this community in the South Carolina House of Representatives.  For nearly 10 years I have served you as your representative on County Council.  As you know, I have always made it a priority to be available anytime – day or night – to offer any help that I can.  Through dozens of HOA meetings, citizen committees, countless phone calls, texts and emails, we have formed a great bond of friendship and respect.  That bond and familiarity that I will take to State House will be an invaluable asset – ensuring that our community continues to be well-represented in Columbia.

We’ve had some great accomplishments over the last 10 years.  We stopped a project that would have placed a transfer station at the Palmetto landfill that would have kept the trash coming into our community for decades to come.  We designed and implemented an area-specific land use plan that facilitates the coming growth, preserves private property rights and protects existing investments. Over the last couple of years we more than doubled the amount of money and resources that are dedicated to road maintenance and improvements – without raising our taxes!  Further, thanks to forward-thinking, conservative policies at the local and state level, we enjoy one of the lowest unemployment rates in America. Working together, we can take those principles to Columbia and make a real difference for our county and our state.

Our district deserves proven leadership and dedication to service.  I promise to continue to be available and to promote our values of “less government and more freedom” while ensuring that our government is more effective and efficient, and most of all, transparent and responsive.  I ask for your support, your prayers and your vote on June 9th.

God Bless,
